Hi,
You can edit the HTML at Configuration > HTML Page Templates > Default. If you use a skin, you need to do this in the skin, not the project.
If you create a robots.txt file and add it to you Baggage files, it will be included in your Webhelp output.
Martin.

Re: Inserting local media files
Hi Tobias, 1. rename the mp3 file name to remove any spaces if necessary. 2. put a copy of the mp3 file in the Project > Baggage folder. 3. insert an HTML code object in the topic where you want the play button and volume controls ( Write > Insert Object > Insert HTML code object ). 4. in the HTML c...

Re: eWriter password prompt - always on top
Update: That is a normal Windows modal dialog that belongs to the eViewer application. Those dialogs can't be placed on-top since they are alread on top of the application they belong to. The only way around that would be to make eViewer itself on-top, and that isn't an option. Hi Tim, Try showing ...

Re: User Feedback in Webhelp
I would like to know if it's possible to put a feedback window at the end of topics? Hi Marie, It's quite easy to make a feedback box in a topic, if you have PHP or ASP on the server. Insert an HTML Code Object in the topic. Put an ordinary HTML <form> on there. Have it submit to a simple PHP file ...

Re: List of desired features - Any existing theme coming close?
Hi Martin, Bear in mind that you don't necessarily need an actual skin file. H&M works fine natively without a skin. Try it and see. You can then edit all the page templates and configuration files to embed the TOC, topics, index and search pages in your web site any way you like. If you choose ...

Re: Dept of Never Satisfied - now wants a line in minimalist layout
Hi Dave,
That's set by editing the borders for the Heading style, or creating a new style for the headers:
Add a single border of the desired width (line thickness), and then switch off all except the bottom border.
cheers,
Martin.

Re: Editing Skins and Templates
Hi Dale, .hmskin files can be opened and edited in H&M just like an H&M project. They have no topics or TOC, but the same configuration files. When you use a skin in H&M, the skin files are used instead of the configuration files in the project (so editing those files is a waste of time)...

Hi Nadja,
Have you considered making the "ragged edge" screenshot using the same background colour as your web page? Then it doesn't need to be transparent and you can use any image format. Including from Impict for easy editing in H&M.
Martin.

Re: WebP image format
Thanks Tim. In my tests it looks to be a good alternative for lossless screenshots instead of 24-bit PNG. I'm seeing up to 50% or sometimes more reduction in file size for some screenshots (and so faster download), with no reduction in image quality as far as I can see. Works fine in all browsers I ...

Are there any plans to support Google's "weppy" ( *.webp ) image format in H&M? It's been around for 10 years now and seems to be gaining ground lately. Supported in most browsers and in GIMP, IrfanView, Affinity, and other graphics editors: https://developers.google.com/speed/webp Mar...

Re: ? on 1-letter search in WebHelp
Have you thought about using the keyword index to find all the references to "R/this" and "R/that"? I have tried to educate our users (and my colleagues) to always try the keyword index first, and only use the full-text search as a last resort Hi Tim, Bang on. I've been telling ...

Hi Mike,
If the links are to your own server, you can leave them on http in H&M and force a redirection to https in the server settings:

Re: Dynamic snippets? Snippet as template?
Hi Tony, What is your output format? If HTML-based, you might like to consider using #MERGE in an HTML Code Object for such variables. The merged file can be a plain .txt file, and if included in your Baggage files it can be edited directly in H&M*. It need contain only one word if that is all y...
