Full size image preview with resized image

I am using image toggles, and almost all of my images are reduced to 44% in the online version (but printed at 100%). I do the reduction in H&M. I would love to be able to expand the image while in the editor so that I can review details while I work. It would also help to be able to remove the ...

Hi Horst, The print manual designer allows you to specifiy the minimum height of the topic band. If the space left on the page is smaller than the specified height of the topic band, the topic is forced to the next page (along with the header). It takes a little playing around to get a feel for when...

Hi jlange, The TOC structure you describe has three levels: Chapter, Sub-chapter, and Topic. The Project 2 information is only at level 3; however, logicially, you can't have level 3 without first going through level 1 and level 2. H&M is strict about the TOC structure: It will not automatically...

Hi,

When I had that problem, it was due to lack of memory. .97GB seems like it should be enough, but I believe it's the minimum requirement. The full text search needs lots of memory! An upgrade may be your only solution.

Good luck,

Hi Winsteps and Tim, I'm confused. I just used cut-and-paste to move a topic within the same project, and the topic ID did not change. Are we talking about the same thing here? Select topic, use Edit > Cut, click on another topic, use Edit > Paste? (I assume that Ctrl-x and Ctrl-v would do the same ...

Hi Steve, Unfortunately, spell checking does not work on keywords in H&M. You might want to add a request to the wish list to make sure the idea is considered in the future. As an inelegant kludge, you can compile to RTF, open in Word, and spellcheck the index there. Then you have to hand enter ...

Thanks, Tim, that's what it looked like, but it's good to know for sure. CSS: never a dull moment!

Seeking CSS enlightenment

Hi Tim, Regarding the change I just made to the padding in the two div sections, can you explain why it is that IE is fixed by one, while the real browsers are fixed by the other? /* Set the padding in the OUTER div for MSIE and CHM to prevent the width bug and the horizontal scrollbar bug from acti...

Hi all, This is going to the general from the specific, but I wonder if anyone can give me a concise definition of "version control" and "versioning" and also describe how the other packages help you keep track of versions? I have always worked solo with a relatively small set of...

Hi Tim, Thanks for the warning. Because of the good internal documentation in the template I was able to figure that out, and tested it first on a junk project just to be sure. I changed only the bottom padding value in the lines where there already was one. I try to be very careful when I have to m...

Tim, Hasso, et al, I decided to update my topic template for HTML/BB outputs and add padding at the bottom of each topic. First I tried adding bottom padding to the body style, but this had no effect that I could see. I am using the non-scrolling header template, so next I added bottom padding to th...

Hi Gail, A comment on the Chicago Manual of Style - it's a massive tome that appears to be intended for academic publishing - quite the opposite of the "keep it simple" school that Jim and I advocate. I also found its topic numbering system to be very hard to get used to. Your best bet for...

Hi Gail, You are right that there are many approaches to formatting help, and whatever replies you get here should be read with that in mind, including mine! Here are my opinions: 1. Don't overdo it. Too many initial caps will make a sentence confusing. Same goes for using italics, bold, quotes, etc...
