Re: Exporting TOC into a worksheet
Is there a way to simply "export" my TOC structure into such a worksheet so I do not need to re-type again all my topic titles, chapters and subchapters? Hi Aline, Tools > Reports... > Short Project Report + View Report in External Browser > OK In your browser, select all, copy. Paste whe...

@Martin That sounds as a good approach. So I don't need a browser and have no problem with security and also can handle with linked Topics in the software !? Hi Christoph, Certainly there is no security problem and it doesn't need a browser -- everything would be happening within your own software....

If your company has managed to completely disable Internet Explorer as well then you can't display any help at all There is still eBook and PDF. No topic linking of course. If you are supplying the software AND the computer there are other options, because file size isn't a problem and you can put ...

Re: Importing HTML docs and losing formatting
My question is what do I have to do so my imported docs look the same as the originals. Hi, See the Format > Replace Styles... function. That's a powerful function with multiple settings, so you need to read the Help at: http://www.helpandmanual.com/help/index.html?hm_working_formatting_replace.htm...

Re: Delphi 2
My next step will be seeing what doesn't work under Vista in my D2-compiled app. Hi Phil, I'm still using D2. Rock-solid and smaller exe than later Delphi versions. I also use D5 but still like D2. I haven't tried my D2 app under Vista myself, but several users have said it runs just fine. I can't ...

This leaves a fixed-size graphic as the only option -- anything else would have variable width and could change the pagination Hi Tim, As we have mentioned before, this is not the only option. In nearly all fonts the numeric characters are all the same width. So a valid option would be to use leadi...

3 cheers for 4.2!
I just want to say a big thank you to Alexander and the team for all the work on H&M 4.2. And especially for the long-awaited Replace Styles function. It's brilliant! In less than an hour I have imported more than 100 old HTML pages, converted nearly all of the text to my current styles, brought...

Re: Excluding files from FTS in HTMLHelp
It would make my life a great deal simpler if H&M would generate the intra-window links as plain old <a href="Combobulation.htm"> Hi, Insert > Plain HTML code... menu item. You can break it up if it helps, e.g. [ <a href= ... > ] ordinary styled topic text [ </a> ] p.s. this won't cre...

The return addresses, however, are all bogus, using my domain name with randomly generated user IDs (for example, vqldx@mydomain.com). Hi Dean, If it's any reassurance, I've been receiving lots of the same recently. I don't know why the spam filters don't kill them, but the answer is not to have a ...

The best thing you can do to improve your security on the web and get a better browsing experience (other than buying an Apple computer or switching to Linux) is to stop using Internet Explorer. Hi Tim, Agreed of course. The problem is that we are not talking about our own browser, but the one bein...

Re: Chapters not opening
So apparently there's something wrong with the toggle feature. Hi Aline, I'm having similar problems with toggles supplied on CD. Here's what I know: 1. Everything works perfectly in Firefox, Opera, etc., in fact in any browser other than IE, so why anyone goes on using IE is a mystery. 2. In IE, i...

I'm afraid there's no batch conversion for tables at the moment and you also can't apply styles to tables. Don't forget that you can do most things by search and replace in the XML. You could certainly do a search and replace for the rgb blue colour codes and replace them all with white or transpar...

I would only consider it positive to let my users access my documentation electronically both in a browser based system and in a PDF document - including hyperlinks and all. This gives my users a choice on how to approach the matter, in the way that works best for them. That's fine. But just make s...
