I include embeded topics in my tables, because of the field desciptions in which I also use pictures (so text variables won't work) will be repeated often. Create a function that would allow you to decide wich sections (maybe even topics...?) would or would not be included in the TOC. A TOC entry would then be created in the same style that was already used (spacing, font, etc.).

If you could create custom sections in the manual, you could add some sections like the EULA that would be in every document and have their own (roman) page numbering. I now had to (mis)use the Endnotes section for this.
