Ivka, You don't need to paste to Word -- you can get a faster count in Word by compiling to RTF and then opening the RTF in Word and using the word count feature. I'm not quite clear whether you are having the problem in the topic header or in the top frame of your three-frame layout. If it's in the topic header then Waldemar's comment applies. However, the top frame of your 3-frame layout should not be affected by this.

David, Dean's suggestions should help, also make sure that you are using the latest version of H&M . In very rare cases it is possible to have some spurious hidden code somewhere in your topic -- if all else fails you can try copying all the text in the topic to a plain text editor like Notepad ...
