Re: Wait after last animation

Hi Hitch, I have the same problem with my users. I write stuff. Hardly anyone reads it. I'm sure Tim feels the same way. There is a way to get Xplains to run continuously, and set a time for each slide, so I don't know what you have set wrong. I will go and have a look now to see what it might be. c...

Re: Wait after last animation

Are you guys saying that I cannot set the duration of display, for a slide ? At all? Hi Kimberley, You need to deselect the Autoplay option for the slide. It will then wait for the user to read the texts. The user clicks the Next Slide icon or the Play icon when they are ready to resume the playbac...

Re: HelpXplain 1.1 Beta with Audio Support

Great!

Thanks for including the voice recorder. That's made it much easier to record a slide voice-over than using other software and creating a lot of audio files.

cheers,

Martin.

Re: Using Kraken to reduce images

For regular screenshots without modifications, none of this typically applies. So there should be no conversion and the output result must be bit-identical with the original image that you inserted. Build 1132 implements that. Hi Alexander, That's good. It's important to me to be able to insert wor...

Re: Using Kraken to reduce images

Hi Olivier,

If they are screenshots in PNG format, a good way to reduce the file size is by changing to 8-bit colour. It makes a big difference to file size, without having much effect on the image.

cheers,

Martin.

Hi,

Just enter <%TOPICID%> in your topic text.

The ones you are using are for use in the HTML page templates, not topic text. The one above works for both.

cheers,

Martin.

Re: Roadmap for HelpXplain

How do you define 'one of the older frameset skins' ? Hi Sue, I meant any of the skins other than the Premium Pack V3 skins, which I don't think will work in TWebBrowser. So any of the native H&M skins, or the Premium Pack V2 skins such as those for EWriter, or no skin at all. In fact I still l...

Re: Developer - Object Link

I did get it to work, You do need to compile to see it show up. How would you use this technique to solve an issue? Hi Terry, Glad you got it to work. What you use it for is down to your imagination. :) In effect it's the Xplain equivalent of having a toggle in an H&M topic. You could also use ...

Re: Developer - Object Link

Do you embed from the Edit HTML source code option from the PopUp menu on right click of an object? The edit HTML source code starts like this <p style="text-align:center">Enter Text</p> How would you embed with this? Hi Terry, Yes. Delete that and replace it with the code I posted. You n...

Re: Feature request: got to certain slide in preview

Martin, that's fine when working on a file, but the keyboard shortcuts can also be very handy when actually presenting stuff, or exercising a presentation. Hi Kai, On the Publish page, try the Slide Indicators or the Slide Thumbnails skins in the dropdown list. You can click on any indicator/thumbn...

Re: Adding animations to a single object

Thanks Tim, I noticed that if multiple items are selected, they are all scaled when changing the size. One of the best bits of Meccano in HX is the HTML editor. It means you can put anything in an Xplain -- web pages, YouTube videos, feedback forms. Even embed one Xplain inside another -- I can see ...

Re: Adding animations to a single object

However, there is a trick you can use to apply two animations to an object. Hi Tim, Many, many thanks for that nudge to the grey cells. I've finally got what I've been wanting all along. A cursor which moves, pauses , and then clicks. That's going to halve my number of slides and Xplain creation ti...

I have a slide/screenshot selected but the Picture Tools tab doesn't appear. Hi Steve, Click in the spotlight (the lit part). That will select the image behind it, and the Picture Tools tab will appear. Then click the Image menu. The screenshot will come to the front for editing. Click Effect on th...

pasting in a slide moves the slide list

Hi Alexander Using HX 1.0.3.1087, thanks for that. :) But copying and pasting objects on a slide, causes the current slide to scroll to the visible bottom of the slide list. This not very helpful if you don't notice the slides have moved and want to select the next one. p.s. I understand that you sa...
