The information I have in the toggle is broken up into about 8 tables, some tables are bigger than others. Unfortunately, all this information needs to go in the same expandable topic heading. Hi Tina, This is what to do: 1. Create your heading and new toggled expanding section. 2. Before you put a...

I'm not sure what I can do to not put that much text in. I have that much information, it must be in table format, and it must be located in an expandable topic. Hi Tina, The toggled table can contain more than one row. Try changing the table properties to several rows and breaking your content int...

Hi Tim, This is the editor's gentle (and controlled) way of telling you that you have put more text than is possible or sensible in a single table cell. Hmm. I assume that was tongue-in-cheek? This is an RVF editor bug . I have just been playing about on other systems and earlier versions of...

Hi Tim, I've heard about this phenomenon a couple of times but have never been able to reproduce it myself, even with giant tables. Screenshot attached. It's easy to reproduce -- start a new blank project, create a table, and copy and paste into it an entire long topic. Processor?: Pentium D 820 dua...

Re: Tables in Toggles
In one of my expandable topic sections I have a rather large table. When I click into the toggle box to edit an item in the table, the bottom portion of the table is covered by diagonal lines. Hi Tina, I've seen the same. I think it's an RVF editor display issue for tables. If you work the scrollba...

Hi Alexander, Thorsten, Many thanks. I'm tempted to use Thorsten's excellent logo as it stands. I assume there are no copyright or trade mark issues with using this logo on my web sites? I will link it to http://www.ec-software.com/ unless you say otherwise. (I know there is also http://www.helpandm...

Latest news: The final version will include an <IF_TOGGLES> condition for templates Brilliant. This is getting better and better! p.s. is this still a release candidate or are we back to a beta? I've got lots of other suggestions -- for example why only a text link for a table toggle? Why ca...

H&M page logo?
I'm so pleased with the new toggles that I want to add a "created with H&M" icon and link at the bottom of the page.
Is there one I can use? How about adding such an option to the standard topic template?
Martin.

Browser search problems with toggles
There seems to be a problem with the full text search in Browser help when a topic contains toggles. Unlike the browser's own page search (Ctrl-F), the H&M text search finds words hidden in collapsed toggles. That's good. When you click on a search result, the topic opens with the search terms h...

Re: Toggles again
Hi Tim, "Expanding sections" and "expanding text" are now pretty standard and I would use them. Hmm. But they are a bit of a mouthful. Probably ok if the expanded table is transparent as normal text. But if you have a coloured table with a border, etc., simply describing it as ex...

Toggles again
What is considered the best way to describe these toggles to users -- I'm not sure the word toggle will be well understood. Expanders, drop-downs, fold-ups, fold-outs, roll-ups, pop-outs, openers, slides, sleeves, blinds, rollers, ... ? Also, is this a bug or is my brain fixed on backwards :( ? Sure...

Hi Tim, See Basic Working Procedures - Toggles - Expand All / Collapse All in the help for details. 8) oops! RTFM -- now there's a novel idea! Many thanks for the steer. Rather than a script link though, what I had in mind was something built into the headers by default, on the lines of <IF_T...

It is realized with a check box option called [x] Enable local testing for Internet Explorer in the Compile dialog. Hi Tim, Great! :D And what an inspired choice of words to explain it! I wish I'd thought of it. It's also amazing to have such responsive software developers as Alexander and the EC t...

Hi Tim, Many thanks for the background info. A note on IDs in toggles: They are optional and unless you plan to manipulate your toggles afterwards with your own code the strong recommendation is not to use them. In that case, may I suggest that the toggle ID field be moved from top-left in the dialo...
