Re: ODBC-connection for SQL-query to external databases assigned to a field-definition using in topic-text
Hi, I absolutely 100% sencond that request. My use case are several complex configations that need to be documented. The config is probably not THAT dynamic and changed very often, but with a high degree of probability one either forgets or frowns the effort... I have written several programs that r...

Re: Spacing before headings
Hi Ron,
I do not see a 'sample below' but chances are the problem is in the PDF template that is used for generating the output OR
try another PDF printer reference driver.
Hope this helps,
/Gerold

Output Report when linking to files
Hi,
When I link to e.g. an excel file, the output report contains the name of the file(s) to be distributed with the documentation. Unless...
...the output format is PDF. There is no mention of it.
Is this intended?
Kind regards,
/Gerold

Re: To find or not to find, that is the question
Thanks Tim,
I see. Given your instructions I was able to fix it. Additionally all Snippets now have a suffix of _snippet.
Still curious why this would not happen with PDF but with other formats...

PDF Export Landscape
Hi, I have complex SVGs (network topologies) that do not render correctly in the PDF output. As a workaround I create two renditions from the Viso drawing , one 300dpi PNG and one SVG. As the drawing is landscape I try to put it to a PDF landscape page. I do the following. At the beginning of the to...

To find or not to find, that is the question
Hi ( I know not a meaningful title), I'm having a weird issue with an error message of snippet not found. In my project I export to PDF without any issues: Anmerkung 2020-04-20 170843.jpg The I just switch to Webhelp and get a snippet not found Anmerkung 2020-04-20 170943.jpg I see no content missin...

Re: Slide progess without click
Hi Tim, my research on this topic can - in the best case - only be called 'herumwurschteln'. This is an Austrian dialect word (probably also known in Bavaria) describing clueless and random efforts in achieving a goal. Your help directed me to the following attempt: Create the following custom javas...

Re: Picture-in-Picture possible
Hi Tim,
I seem to be indefinitively clumsy (or unexperienced I want to think)
How do I 'positioning the slide you want to jump to inside the other slide'??? I tried the intuitive ones like D&D,C&P, evven loked at linking and HTML editing.
Sorry to be a pain,
/Gerold

Re: Slide progess without click
Hi Tim, I feel completely stupid and probably justifiable so. I'm only concerned with screenscasts which I publish with no autoplay beacause for 80% of the slides this is what I want: User interacts to advance to the next information beacause he/she has understood the current screen content. Only in...

Slide progess without click
Hello, I assure it must be me... Sometimes it makes sense to advance from one silde to the next, but then I want this and mabe another (or a third) slide to animate without a button click, and then continue with regular on entry/on exit animations. The word 'autoplay' comes to my mind, but for my li...

Picture-in-Picture possible
Hello, this might better be called Animation-in-Animation.... I have a dialog with some buttons that perform something. This something is in a set of animations later in the xplain. I would like to give the user an opportunity to have a glimps into that function and if interesting jump to that item....

Javascript error
Just when I had the feeling I master Xplain a bit :frustration: I have created a screencast using the latest and greatest Xplain 1.3.0.1286 and have NOT conciously added or changed ANY Javascript (much tooo bad at this). The single slide animations work without error. Testung the animation with the ...
