Re: Syntax Error when trying to print PDF
I haven't changed my printer or printer driver or my print manual template. This is due today, of course. Any thoughts? Hi Dean, If this error is coming from the Adobe Reader or some other PDF reading software, don't forget that you can print a manual directly from H&M to get out of trouble. Fi...

Hi David,davidhyde wrote:Any suggestions?
Have you tried Insert > Plain HTML Code... to insert an HTML table in the topic instead of using the editor's table functions?
If you don't put any paras in the <td> elements they won't be in the output.
Martin.

Re: HTML help table of contents format
The remaining issue is how to use a batch file to perform search and replace on an HTML file (without cygwin/grep etc). Hi Simon, NoteTab ( http://www.notetab.com ) can do this. It has a "clip language" for scripts which can include search/replace using regular expressions, and can be run...

I found that the value being used by PChar(Application.HelpFile) was not valid, due to a bad placement of this statement in my app: Application.HelpFile := ApplicationDataDir + '\WINFLS10.CHM'; had been placed ahead of setting the value of ApplicationDataDir so Application.Helpfile was being set to...

1. User selects the Help menu item or presses F1 2. We want to call the help file (chm) and have it display the desired topic, based on the topic id. We don't do any what's this kind of stuff ... just straight forward display of help topics from the helpfile. Hi Patrick, If that's all you want to d...

Hi Phil, I have CHM Help working in D2, using some code I found in an old file. It's not mine, it came originally from Jan Goyvaerts. A user tabbing to a control and pressing F1 opens the Help at the topic set by the control's context ID, as for WinHelp. Or you can put buttons on the form to open th...

Re: extra space on bolded text in pdf?
In the pdfs I generate now there seems to be an extra space before each bolded text string. Hi, We have been discussing this in the Bug Reports forum. See: http://helpman.it-authoring.com/viewtopic.php?p=20276 If you read through that you will see a suggested workaround until it can be fixed. Martin.

Why don't I just use the Bold button and the Italic button, one after the other? Because at some point I might want to change my Bold+Italic emphasis style to be only Bold or only Italic or Bold+Red or some other combination of attributes. Hi Dean, Have you fully explored the new Replace Styles fun...

Hi Phil, I've dabbled a little with THelpRouter in D2 but so far I haven't got it working. :( But I have got CHM Help working in D2 -- see next message. By the way, I did see that HTML help is much preferred for Vista. 99% of my users have a browser installed, so that won't be a problem. I think you...

For everyone using it: This will only work properly if the text in your project is also Unicode. Hi Tim, All I will add is that I didn't change to unicode and it did cure the space-before-bold problem (but not the baseline problem). That's not to say it will work for anyone else, of course. Possibl...

I'm also getting the previously reported problem that the baseline of bolded words shifts randomly, usually upward, in the PDF output. Hi Dean, I can confirm both problems with 4.2, extra space and upshifted bold. Are you creating an interactive PDF or a PDF for user printing? If the latter, try do...
