Aranoff, PPS: There are definitely some issues with scrollbars (and possibly frames) in the new versions of Opera, however. For example, in the administration mode of the forum software, which has DIVs with their own scrollbars inside other DIVs, the internal scrollbars often lock up in Opera 9.x --...

Hi Alexander,

Confirmed. Any change in the XML editor resets the settings of horizontal lines when you switch back to the normal editor. Thanks for reporting this, it was not a known issue. :)

Hi Ramsey,

I think this is extremely unlikely. The only possibility I can think of is that you might be using styles whose definitions include these settings. If you can find steps for reproducing the problem please post them! :)

Hi Aranoff, I've now moved this to the Programmers' Corner section. I'm afraid I'm not a programmer and am not familiar with the details of these tools so you're going to have to wait until one of the EC developers comments on this. At the moment they are away at a conference so it may take a little...

Hi Aranoff,

I can't reproduce this problem in any browser. It works fine in MSIE, Firefox and Opera.

PS: Please don't post duplicate messages on the same subject. I've deleted the other thread. :)

Willy, This is actually already being considered. Unfortunately, there are serious problems with the idea: It currently looks as though only around one third of those who use translation seriously only translate to one language. The other two thirds translate to 2, 3 or more languages. It would be i...

Hi Aranoff, Are you talking about buttons in your program or in the help? If you mean in your program then this question should really be in Programmers' Corner. I'n not a programmer myself, but I think if you're using Delphi you may be able do something like this with the TWhatsThis tool included w...

Hi Ronan, Do you know if these templates exist already? I looked into the altova products which would nicely fit my translators needs. I'm afraid I don't have any news on this. However, the best way to encourage Altova to release WYSIWYG templates is for lots of Help & Manual users to ask them a...

Matthias, Thanks for the demo, the problem is really the image size. 600px is more than enough for help -- remember that many people will still be viewing on 800x600 pixel screens, particularly in offices. If you also output to PDF remember that toggles can't "scale" for PDF like normal im...

Carolyn, Hanging indents won't work without a tab stop. This is the only place that you can safely use tabs in output destined for HTML-based formats, and it is also a place where you must use tabs. The tab defines the hanging indent and is converted into a stable table structure in your HTML-based ...

Matthias, Update: After further testing as far as I can see this problem only occurs if you have toggle images in tables. If the expanded toggle is wider than a certain maximum the text in the neighboring column gets squeezed so much that it can no longer be displayed properly and some of it gets cu...
