Re: Hidden topics appearing in CHM
Hi Kerry, I think this may be the clue to what is happening: I've marked all top level topics as include in "None" builds, except one topic which is simple text with no links If you only exclude a chapter topic without explicitly excluding its child topics, then the child topics won't be i...

Re: Creating Captions improvements
1. Be able to have a default style for the 'Insert caption' action and not to have to modify the default Image Caption style. A project wide setting is fine. Um....but that is precisely what the Image Caption style is for. How do you imagine achieving this if not with a style? And that style alread...

Re: Embedded fonts in ePub
Note that embedding these Microsoft fonts in PDFs is actually OK. See the section on "document embedding" in this Microsoft page on the subject:

Hi Alexey,
It will only be added to default.css if you are actually using it somewhere. The most likely candidate is in a bulleted list.

Re: scrollable build-list
I meant, that the list can be scrolled with the mouse-wheel. Is there an option to make this possible in future? I checked this with the developers and apparently this scrollable component is part of the ribbon toolbar and there's no real way to add functionality to it. It would need to be replaced...

Re: batch export - reduce loading time
Hi Johanna, The long switch is probably related to the excessive number of build options you have defined. Help+Manual needs to poll these to be able to display them in the Publish screen. Other reasons for slow performance are: * Trying to run Help+Manual over a network or VPN connection * Trying t...

Re: batch export - reduce loading time
Hi Johanna, Is it possible to shorten the loading time when switching to batch export? I'm not entirely sure what you mean here. Are you referring to switching from the regular Publish page to the Publishing Task Manager? That shouldn't generally have a delay. However, judging by the number of build...

Re: scrollable build-list
Hi Johanna,
It is scrollable. The scroll button is visible in your screenshot at the bottom of your list. And you have way, way too many include options in your project to be reasonably manageable by a human author...

Re: Zoom by ctrl+mouse wheel
Hi Björn, Already identified and fixed. We've also added SHIFT + wheel for left/right scrolling, and pinch to zoom and two-finger four-directional scroll for supported trackpads. If you want it right away you can try the pre-release version of 9.4.1: https://www.helpandmanual.com/download/help-and-m...

Re: Sandcastle Import Issue
Hi Ken, It would probably be helpful if you could narrow it down to discover which assembly or comments section is triggering the exception. I would do this by adding one at a time and regenerating until I get the error. It's also important to understand that Sandcastle is old -- Microsoft hasn't to...

Re: Drupal-related publishing questions
Hi Elissa, Help+Manual isn't Drupal-aware, if that's what you mean here, so integrating it wouldn't be Drupal-specific. However, the Premium Pack V3, V4 and V5 skins include functionality for embedding help in other HTML pages -- both the entire help and the ability to open single topics and popups ...

Re: Validating internet links?
Hi Matt,
Currently, Help+Manual only checks internal links within the current project. A feature like this may be added in the future, but it's not at the top of the list at the moment.

Re: make curly quotes work in captions
Hi Björn,
Those shortcuts can't work there because those dialogs are outside of the HM editor. They are Windows controls, and not accessible to the editor shortcut system.

Re: Zoom by ctrl+mouse wheel
Hi Björn,
This is actually supported, but with a slight difference. To zoom with CTRL + Mouse Wheel, hold the mouse pointer over the zoom control in the status bar.

Re: Empty Project from Confluence Conversion
Hi Gerold, Are you using build 9.4.0 Build 6617? A few changes have been made to the Confluence import and they are still ongoing. Also, when you created the XML backup of your Confluence project for importing, did you make sure to only backup one language? If you continue to have problems, please w...
