Martin, Confirmed (713). Find after Replace All does delete all ! How do you manage this? Try as I might I simply can't reproduce it, not on the current version and not on 713 either. Hi Tim, Just confirmed again on 715. The bit I forgot to mention is that I was searching for the word just replaced...

Is there any way to swap out the editor with another one (replacing a DLL that Help & Manual uses, changing a registry setting, etc?) I have never heard of an editor without overwrite.. this is a new one on me. Steve Hi Steve, No, that's not feasible. The RVF editor is at the core of H&M4 a...

Hi Steve,

Overwrite mode is not available in H&M4 and other RVF editors.

Re: Clarifying My Question

My question is about printing topics from H&M's On-Line Help Manual written by ec-software and provided with the program under the pull-down menu item "Help". Hi, Don't try to print that - the results will be awful. Instead, the same thing is online at this location: http://www.ec-sof...

Re: Table spacing

Is there any way to create space between table rows without also creating space between table columns? Hi, You can do this by creating the table in another RVF editor, and pasting it into H&M. Horizontal and vertical cell spacings can be set up independently. You can edit, search, etc., the cel...

The trick is to type two spaces and then format the second one. You can delete the first after this if you like but if you only type one it appears to be "associated" with the link. Alternatively you can copy and paste a single "coloured" space onto the end of the line. This is ...

Re: Adding an Image to background

I just upgraded to HM 4.0. I want to add a background IMAGE to a new, customized Help Window. How do I add the image? If you are creating HTML-based outputs, add a BACKGROUND="image file" parameter to the BODY tag in the window's topic template. For other outputs, you can create a waterma...

Hi Bob,

When clicking on one of the search results, hold down the Shift key on the
keyboard. The new page will open in a separate window. When you close it,
you will still have the search results showing.

Re: Background image in PDF Output

A table with one cell is used for a background image. The text should be exactly over the background image as you can in the help and manual editor. Hi Peter, Confirmed (692). This appears to be a bug in the PDF output. The image is rendered at 0,0 on the pdf canvas instead of being referenced to t...

You can get the result you want (cell borders in a different colour and/or width from the outer table border) by creating your table in a different RVF application. Then copy and paste the table into HM4. Just for fun I've been experimenting. Here is a tasteful RVF table created in TexNotes and cop...

Is it possible to configure cell borders indiviually? And if not, is this planned for future updates? Hi Peter, Not all the RVF table features have been implemented in HM4, probably because of the difficulty of ensuring consistent rendering in different outputs or browsers. You can get the result y...
