Hi Zeenat,

There was a post a little previous to yours that seems to indicate the same problem:

Hi Tim,
Welcome back - you were missed!

And many thanks for the post card - it looks like an absolutely gorgeous getaway. The part about no computer sounds like heaven.

Now if you can just maintain that sense of repose through the next few months... 8)

Using the "Keep Paragraph with Next" option on heading styles and adjusting the height of the topic band in the print manual designer can help you avoid some problems, though not the orphan lines. In my case, the online help is more important so I'm willing to live with one or two ugly pag...

Hi David, Do you get the same error from other projects or just the one? If only the one, you might try running the Repair and Recover tool on your project (on the Tools menu - close the project first). The only other thing I can think of right off is that you made a change to the html in the topic ...

Hi Michael

Use Tools > Print Manual Designer to open the formatting program for printed output. To change the page size, use File > Page Options in the Print Manual Designer. The online help there has more info.

Good luck,

Hi f, A more consistent selection method would be to click to the right of the table, hold down Shift, and press Left Arrow once. This should select the entire table. If you have trouble clicking to the right of the table, try clicking at the end of the previous paragraph and arrowing left. Or you c...

Hi Matthew, I can't find a way to spellcheck the keywords within H&M. I suppose if one uses Ctrl+K to insert keywords from text you can spellcheck the text first, but that doesn't help me because I type most of them directly. Note that you can scan the index pane visually for pairs where one is ...

Hi Debbie,

I've been frustrated myself by the lack of a search field in the bbh index. You might want to copy your post to the wish list section. That way it won't be overlooked the next time Alexander is check for suggestions to implement.

Thanks,
Dean

The best book you can get about H&M is the online help, which is also available on the EC Software web site. It has tutorials on the Help menu, while the help CHM starts simple and proceeds through more complex topics to a detailed reference section. I don't know if it's available in PDF, but I'...

Hi Claire, This problem resurfaced for me earlier this year. The final solution in my case appears to have been a memory upgrade. The Zoom Indexer requires lots of memory. It turns out my RAM was right at the borderline for acceptibility, so the compile would complete sometimes but not always. I upg...

Is there a chart online that lists the values for all of the high-ASCII characters? The character map utility in Windows gives a different value (Unicode perhaps?). Related question: Are all of these characters valid in all outputs? HTML has limits, if I recall.

Thanks,
Dean

Hi Acxiom, Do you mean the text links for Next, Previous, and Print in the topic header? If so, you can substitute buttons for the text by editing the topic template. Warning: You have to be familiar with HTML and how to code it. There is a tutorial that describes how to do this. If you have version...

Hi, What type of document will you be sending to others? If it's the source H&M .hmx project, anything you add could be removed. Same for an RTF. If it's a PDF file, you could place a pale gray image on each page section in the print manual designer. If it's html, you could add a similar graphic...
