Aghh!

Unread post by Martin Wynne »

Hi all,

I just created a screenshot in Impict and saved it as a .bmp file.

McAfee Viruscan immediately fired and flagged it as a trojan,
claimed it contained "exploit-MS06-005", and DELETED it!

I'll try again after a coffee! :(

Martin.

Martin,

Today seems to be bizarre issues day. I can only guess that this is a truly one-off coincidence and that the image data of this particular file just happens to contain the signature sequence of the Trojan. At least, I hope that that's what it is...

Hi Tim,

I hope so too! Now it's been deleted, I can't check.

But so far, I haven't been able to reproduce it.

McAfee now wants to do an immediate scan of my system, so I had better let it get
on with it.

Martin.
