Ability to Group multiple objects "permanently"

Unread post by jgodfrey »

Many times, image annotations are made up of 2 or 3 individual objects (rectangle, text, and maybe a line). Once the annotation is created, it would be nice if it could be "grouped" together as a single object. It would make moving it multiple times much more efficient. Now, I have to multi-select all objects belonging to the annotation (and a narrow line is sometimes difficult to select) every time I want to move the "group".

Along with a grouping ability, it would be necessary to "ungroup" objects also.

You can do this with "Flatten objects", of course, but since that converts the group to a single bitmap it's not reversible and you can no longer edit the objects. Again, good suggestion.
