Hi all
I'm wondering if it is possible to find the install location of Help and Manual in an easy way? I've had a look at the registry hoping that there would be an entry giving me the install path, but it seems that there is no entry for H&M in the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE registry hive. Is there a way to easily find out where H&M is installed or should I just search through all the directories on the disk?
Thanks
Patrick

Hi Tim
I must be missing something because I can't find it. My registry hive does have an entry in: HKCU/Software/ECSOFTWARE/Help & Manual 5. And there are lots of values under that key but AppPath isn't one of them ...
Could this have something to do with the fact that I installed H&M in a per machine install? Or maybe because I'm on Win7 x64? Although I have looked in the Wow6432Node in the registry (this should contain the 32-bit registry) but that doesn't have any entries for ECSOFTWARE.
For the record, here's what I found in my HKCU/Software/ECSOFTWARE/Help & Manual 5 entry:
No AppPath
Any other suggestions of where to look?
Thanks
Patrick

Hi Patrick,
Apparently we don't write this value any more, it was on my machine because it got written in the very early days of HM5. However, there's a workaround: You can get the application path by polling the path stored for the .hmxz and .hmxp file extension associations.
