Premium Pack 2.0 sneak peek video

Unread post by Tim Green »

Click here for a sneak peek preview of some of the features that are going to be in Premium Pack 2.0. Note that this video still shows an early alpha that is very much a work in progress. But you can see the new topic tabs, tab undocking and redocking, the animated tab slider, Quick Search, TOC resizing and show/hide and a number of other neat little tricks. Enjoy! :santa:

Note: Also in the works is a special template for the Apple iPad and Android tablets with good support for touch screen controls and single-finger scrolling in the scrollable elements. 8)

Hi Tim,

Any idea on timescale for this release? I was going to purchase the current Premium Pack, and noticed that V2.0 is on the horizon and will much rather have that! (I LOVE gadgets!)
Is it worth hanging on for the 2.0 release or will it be a number of months yet?

Thanks
Heidi

Hi Heidi,

It will be a while yet. It was delayed by the iPad skin, which turned out to be a lot more difficult than I expected -- over three months in all, which was much too much for a little experiment. :x

I know all too well about 'little experiments'.. The whooshing sound the deadline makes when it flies by is a very common sound at a lot of places.

Thanks for that - we shall be getting the current PP within the next few days (I hope). :)

Very nice... the topic tabs are similar to IE/Firefox so you're offering a consistent, expected, intuitive user experience.

Re: Premium Pack 2.0 - update from rel. 1.4

If I buy Premium Pack 1.4 now will there be a free update to Premium Pack 2.0? Or any kind of reduced price for updating?

Hi Thomas,

The premium packs are layout templates so they are not "updatable" products like software programs. In this sense, the version number is really a little misleading, we need to change the name there. The next version of the Premium Pack will be a completely different set of templates and they will not replace or update the existing version. We will probably offer a discount for existing users but they will be two separate products and both will continue to be available.
