Comments in header shown in search results

Unread post by MichielHofman »

Hello,

When I add a comment into the header of a topic before the header text (using "show comment as bookmark), this comment is displayed as a search result when a user of the webhelp searches on a word used in the comment.

Apparently this comment is stored in html in the description field of the title:

Code: Select all

<title>Window Management > Wizards</title>
   <meta name="generator" content="Help & Manual">
   <meta name="keywords" content="">
   <meta name="description" content="Annulerenknop ontbreekt in WizardWizards">
   <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8">
in which

Code: Select all

Annulerenknop ontbreekt in Wizard
is the content of my comment in Help&Manual (in Dutch :-D).

Hi Michiel,

You must be using a totally outdated copy of Help & Manual. There is no "Show comment as bookmark" option in the current version of Help & Manual 5 (5.5 Build 1273) and this hasn't been available for a very long time. Comments in the header are definitely not stored in the description meta tag, I just checked it to make sure. :)

Hi Tim,

I'm using 5.4 (apparently our network blocks the update news) so you might be right. I'll check.

Hi Tim,

I just downloaded the most recent version and still have the problem.

The option I used is "Show comment as icon only".

I can't reproduce this. Please mail me a small demo project at support AT ec-software.com (replace the AT with @) and I'll check it.
