Publish to Word (docx) > How to hide/remove {XE ..} tags?

Unread post by wopjes »

Hi,

There are {XE } tags in the paragraph titles when i publish to Word. How can i hide/remove these in the whole document?
Preference is to default hide the keyword tags in Word.

Example:
2.1. WAT IS ER NIEUW? {XE: Versiehistorie}
This is not how i can deliver the helpfile to my clients...

I already tried to Find>replace but Word can not find the tags with search...
suggestion; If the XE tags would have there own style i could easily hide them by blending in with the background.

Hi Wopjes,

There is nothing wrong with the document. The problem is your settings in Word -- you have configured Word to display field codes instead of their values. Users will see the document normally unless they have also configured Word like this.

You can turn the setting off again in Word in File > Options > Advanced: Show document content. Locate the option "Show field codes instead of their values" and deselect it. When you click on OK the display in Word will then be normal again. :)

Or toggle the field codes on and off with Alt-F9....

Hi Tim, Thanks a lot for the answer!!!

I had no idea about this Word setting and probably wouldn't have found a solution to my "problem".

Thanks!
Kind regards, wopjes
