Status preset for new repository topics

Hi,

I have configured H&M to apply a specific status to new topic files by checking Apply status to new topics: and selecting the status in the combobox (in Program Options, tab Editor).
This works as intended when creating a new topic in a standard help project. After the upgrade from H&M6 to H&M7 however, the status is no longer applied to new topics in our repository project.

Is there a setting I am missing?

Hi Andreas,

I just checked this with a repository and it's working fine. Before doing anything else, please make sure that you are using the current version of Help & Manual 7. Since this is a new release, updates are going to be released quite frequently in the first period. You can check your installed version with Help > About. The current version is 7.0.5 Build 3681. If you need to update you can download the latest installer from

Just install on top of your current version to update.

Weirdly enough, the issue is gone now.
I just created a new test repository and everything worked fine there. I then checked again in our standard repository, where it's working fine now, too.

I just found out what the problem was.

We are using topic templates in our repository project. When creating a new topic based on a topic template, H&M analyses the status setting defined in the template's status XML attribute. H&M then applies that status setting to the new topic. The attribute was not set in our topic template, which caused the issue.
