Hi,
I noticed that my project file grown quite a lot recently. I've found out the reason: the topic history was turned on. As I need to cut down the file size, how can I remove the history?
I unticked the History check box, but the file size remained the same
It surely has to be the way to do it, I just couldn't find it...
Thanks
Bruno

Re: Getting rid of the topics history
Hi Bruno,
I assume you're using HMXZ (which is a generally bad idea for big projects, but it's your risk...) Just save the project to an empty folder in uncompressed HMXP mode. Then you can move the contents of the history folder to a backup location. Then resave the pruned project as HMXZ. If you've turned off the history function you wont get any additional files added to it. Or you can leave it on and just prune out the old history files on a regular basis.
Alternatively you can do it directly with a zip utility: Change the extension of the .hmxz file to .zip, delete the history files you don't need fore the history folder, then change it back. Some zip tools can learn new extensions for zip files, then you don't even need to rename it.
