PDF A5 to A4 printing
Is it possible to create an A5 pdf template that can print to A4 paper to make a booklet. Putting the pages in the right order in double sided pages.
I can create the A5 template and print A5 but not as an A4 booklet.
Thanks Kevin

Try searching the web for pdf imposition tool. There's quite a variety available.

Yes. Help+Manual has a direct print function that supports booklet printing. Make sure that the manual template used for printing is in A5 format, then print (print, not PDF-export) a booklet to an A4 printer.

Thanks for the quick response and solution.
I have created the A5 booklet template with 2 columns on the page. I want the Table of contents to be down the left hand panel and then the headings and content to follow on.
The ToC sizes correctly but the rest of the page is then blank. The content starts as defined in Topics on the next page.
Is it possible to continue in column 1 straight after the ToC?
I have attached some captured images of the output
Thanks
Kevin

Re: PDF A5 to A4 printing
Hi Kevin,
This isn't possible because PDF template sections always start on a new page. You can choose whether it's going to be an old page or an even page, and some other alternative options, but you can't select that it is not to be a new page. That is only possible within the topics section, where you can choose whether topics on specific levels should start on a new page or on the same page.Is it possible to continue in column 1 straight after the ToC?

Does this apply to printer templates as well. The PDF referred to the previous issue I was having.

Yes, because printer templates are PDF templates. HM generates a printed version by generating a temporary PDF and printing it.kevinotton wrote:Does this apply to printer templates as well. The PDF referred to the previous issue I was having.
