Clicking Webhelp search results jumps to wrong position
I have created a Webhelp manual (with version 7.2.0 build 4035).
Almost all looks good, but the search has a problem:
For most search words, the resulting links "jump" to the wrong position in the page that is opened.
So the page is the correct one, but it mostly jumps too far down in the page.
Lets say I search for "helpme" and my page is like this:
text
text
text
text
text
text
text
text
helpme
text
text
text
text
text
text
What I would expect is to see this:
helpme
text
text
text
text
text
text
But instead I get this:
text
text
text
text
When I scroll up, I see the "helpme", the search word is marked as well. But initially the page is displayed in the wrong position.
I hope you can understand me
Anything I might do wrong?
I have looked at the numbers in the zoom_index.js file, but they don't tell me anything, really.

Re: Clicking Webhelp search results jumps to wrong position
This is a known problem on many web sites, caused by the browser calculating the anchor jump position before the page is fully loaded and rendered. It seems to afflict Firefox more than other browsers.
The user fix is to wait until the page has fully loaded, click in the browser address bar, and press Enter.
Over to Tim for a proper fix in H&M.
Martin.

Nope, can't confirm that.
First of all the quick fix isn't one, because the address bar still shows index.html when I click the search link (I use Iframes responsive blue).
Second, even when I use the actual link from the search result and open that in a new tab, even after the page is loaded, when I press enter on the address bar, it still jumps wrongly.
But at least it's not my fault, that's something.

Hi Christian,
This isn't a known issue with the current version of Help+Manual. What is your HM version and build number (check with Help > About). My guess is that you are using an old copy of Help+Manual with an outdated skin. If you try the online version of Help+Manual's own help you will see that you don't have the problem there, and that uses the same skin:
http://www.helpandmanual.com/help/
The current version of Help+Manual is 7.2.0 Build 4035. You can get the current installer here:
http://www.helpandmanual.com/downloads.html?upd
Install on top of your current copy to update, then get the latest copy of the skin from \Templates\HTML Skins\ in the Help+Manual program directory.

Re: Clicking Webhelp search results jumps to wrong position
As I stated in my original post, I'm using the current version of the tool: version 7.2.0 build 4035
@Tim: As I said, I'm using the iFrames Responsive, Blue skin.
The .hmskin file has a change date of 1st of December 2015 at 11:34 am. MD5 checksum is 9BA8F5238E25C5B11DEB284C08B364B6
Is this the latest version of the file?
(I didn't install the latest version myself, our IT department does that, so I don't know if everything was updated).

You need to get the latest version from the \Templates\HTML Skins\ folder in the Help+Manual program directory.

That's where I'm looking...Are the templates part of the installation file?
Maybe they got skipped somehow during the installation...

The current date is Sep. 28, 2016. Try reinstalling with the current installer and make sure that you select the sample material for installation when asked.
