Open baggage link in a new window

Unread post by thschaer »

Hello

We've got some PDFs in our baggage directory and we would link to link to them via the "Link" > "File link"-Tab ("Dateilink" in german).
Is it possible to add a command here, that the link will open in a new window (when exported as a "WebHelp")?
Just like target="_blank" in HTML or so...
I've searched a while but couldn't find a solution.

Thanks for your support!

Best,
Thomas.

Hi Thomas,

In webhelp use an Internet link instead of a File link. Set the Target to a New window.

The Address URL will be the same as your topic pages, i.e. instead of

Code: Select all

http://your_domain.com/webhelp/index.html
enter

Code: Select all

http://your_domain.com/webhelp/your_file.pdf
If you want to use a File link for outputs other than Webhelp, have 2 links in the topic and put conditional text flags round them.

regards,

Martin.

Hi Martin

Thank you for the quick response.
We will do it this way – it works fine.

And to enter the address seems not necessary.
When I've tried, it worked with just entering the filename (your_file.pdf).
Because all the files are in the same directory.

Anyway: a possibility to enter the link target with a file link would make sense.
At least in my opinion... Maybe a thing for the wishlist. ;-)

Best,
Thomas.
