User-defined Counter Creation

I seem to be having problems creating a user-defined counter.

I create this:

And get this when I Publish to pdf:

I know I'm doing something wrong, just not sure what!

It looks as though you assumed that entering the variable name in the image caption is the definition. You need to define it in Configuration > Common Properties > Text Variables and set the starting value (usually 0 if you want to start with 1).
