Pasting Tables/Table Data from Word & Excel - Best Practice

Unread post by Ga Bowen »

I can paste tables from Word or Excel but I can't import them in the correct format or even format them after I've imported them.

Any advice on importing table or table data?

To paste tables from Excel it's generally best to paste them to Word first and then from Word to HM. Similarly, if you want to import instead of pasting you need to put the table in Word document first and then save that document as RTF in Word. Then you can import it. You can format imported tables with all the Help+Manual table importing features, but you will not have the same features as in Word or Excel. In particular, you won't have macros or formulas, just the formatting. And the general formatting features will be more limited than those available in Word or Excel.
