Runtime merge and synched sibling

Unread post by John Johann »

I have a master TOC for a run-time merged CHM project.
It contains some topics of its own and some direct links from the TOC to merged projects with the name of the project file. I selected "Merge content at runtime" and linked to the TOC of the sub-projects. That publishes fine and does what is supposed to for the master project.

When I synch the sibling language projects with the master TOC, the siblings don't publish properly. When I look at the xml of the table_of_contents.xml of the language siblings, the attribute

Code: Select all

merge="runtime"
has been changed to

Code: Select all

merge="compile"
Have I missed a setting somewhere to prevent this?

Hi John,

I'm not sure how this happened -- it would be necessary to see a test scenario to analyze that. However, the references in the TOC are really just single links so it is easy to correct. Just delete the current TOC entry for that child project and re-insert it for runtime merging again. :)

Search and Replace "runtime" in the XML in the TOC is faster :-)
