Apply nowrap to a string?

Unread postby Martin Wynne » Wed Jul 03, 2019 2:09 pm

I'm looking for an easy way to select a short string and apply nowrap to it? i.e. change all spaces to non-breaking spaces, or CSS white-space:nowrap;

It's tedious to change all the spaces manually. I have a lot to do. Ideally such a function could be assigned to a shortcut, or maybe included in the text styles?

There is a word-wrap option in the paragraph style settings, but these are short strings within the text, not whole sentences or paragraphs.

Am I missing the obvious? (for Webhelp)

cheers,

Martin.

Sorry, that function doesn't exist. You might want to try a keyboard macro program like PhraseExpress or AutoHotKey. 8)

Thanks Tim.

I have now created duplicates of my body styles, and added white-space:nowrap to their CSS in my page template.

It's working fine, the only downside being that unlike non-breaking spaces it doesn't show in the text in the editor as a reminder.

cheers,

Martin.
