Problem with Dictionary

Hello!
We have a problem with the Russian dictionary on one of the computers. We downloaded the required dictionary, placed it in the \\Dictionaries directory, but this dictionary is not in the list of dictionaries in Spelling Options mode. The fact is that on other computers everything is fine, and on one computer it is not in the list.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Hi Svetlana,

The most common cause of this is the wrong dictionary file format for the version of Help+Manual you are using. If the computer where the dictionary is not showing up is an older version and the others are version 7 that could be the explanation. You should also not edit the same projects edited with the newer version using the older version, even though that is possible, because it will delete all functions of the newer version in the project when it saves.

This is all strange because the operating system is Windows 10, H&M Version 7.3.3 Build 4342 on a computer that does not display the dictionary, but we have more computers with exactly the same parameters. And the dictionary is displayed on those computers... :(

We tried to delete the dictionaries folder, reinstall H&M - to no avail...

Hi Svetlana,

The current version is 7.5.3 Build 4740, so it would be very good to update:

That is únlikely to be the cause, however. My guess is that it may be a permissions problem, or possibly a damaged file. First I would get a copy of the dictionary file from one of the computers on which it is working and use that to install it on the other computer. At the same time, make sure that the user account does not have any unusual permissions restrictions on the Help+Manual program directory and its subfolders.

If that doesn't help, try a clean install of Help+Manual (you will need your serial number and activation code for this):

1: Uninstall Help & Manual in the Windows Control Panel (Add/Remove Programs)

2: In the Windows Start menu select Run and enter "regedit" to start the Registry Editor. Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > ECSOFTWARE. Select the "Help & Manual 7" key (folder) and press DELETE to delete it.

3: Download the latest version of Help & Manual from our website:

4: Install the program with the new installer, then add the dictionary file.
