I've tried every variation of transparent PNG. Going via Impict, I cannot get the white background on the following logo to become transparent (the aqua blue background should be visible behind the lower half of the logo):
What type of PNG becomes transparent? Or is this an Impict issue?

Hi Dave,
Impict does not really support alpha transparency for PNG because you can't set the background to be transparent. It can only be a solid color. You need to use a different program to add transparency to PNGs at the moment.
