Screencast spotlight size?

Unread postby Martin Wynne » Wed Jul 17, 2019 1:06 pm

Is there a way to specify the spotlight size when spotlights are added automatically to a screencast?

They can be edited afterwards for multiple slides in Customize Theme, for opacity, outline, etc., but not for size?

Changing the size of each one separately is a bit tedious.

cheers,

Martin.

Not at the moment, but I'm sure it will come eventually. I think the current assumption is that they are all going to be edited anyway... 8)

The spotlights that are inserted automatically all have the same size: 1/4 of height or width, whichever is smaller. You must change the sizes manually after doing the screencast. The screencast cannot know how large the spotlight should be, because it just captures the surface but has no idea of the content it's capturing

OK, but can I change them all, in one go?

cheers,

Martin.

No you cannot. And that's not really useful, either, is it? They have to have different sizes to highlight different areas of interest.

Well obviously some specific ones may need changing. But I find that 1/4 of the capture dims is generally too large. Could that not be a % setting in the dialog when adding spotlights to a screencast? I suspect 15% or 20% would suit me better than 25%. Individual ones could be enlarged later if necessary.

cheers,

Martin.

I doubt one size will ever fit everyone's taste. They need individual adjustment.

I'm not suggesting one size will please everyone. Just an opportunity to set the general size for each screencast as a starting point. How difficult could this be: :)
