Dashed lines

Unread post by Peter Muckle »

Hi,

Just to note that dashed lines are shown as solid in my Xplains.

Also, is it correct that dashes/dots can't be shown in outline animations (they are shown in a solid line)?

Thanks

Peter

Hi Peter,

Thanks for reporting this. As far as I can see at the moment, dashed lines are shown correctly for closed shapes, but not for lines and arrows. Outline animations do render as lines, and if you apply one to a shape the line will also remain after the shape has rendered, instead of returning to dashed. Our developers are looking into this. :)

Hi Peter,

Update from the developers: Outline animations can only work on closed shapes, not on lines with open ends. We're going to update the help on this and possibly also add a warning in the program.

Thanks Tim, I thought this might be the case.

I'm using it to show the sequence of lines of stitching, which is still understandable in solid lines. It would be useful if the lines could be shown as dashed once the animation had finished, at the moment I show a duplicate slide without the animations.

Did they look into why (non-animated) dashed lines are showing as solid?

Best

This isn't quite clear yet. I'll post again when I have more information on that. :?

Hi Peter,

The problem with dashed lines and arrows rendering as solid in output has been fixed with this build:
