Hi all,
I am writing a chapter in one of my manuals and the developers have asked that I add links to various sections of the page. I looked through the help manual and it says there:
You can also create URL links from your application or from other web pages to anchors in WebHelp pages so that users are taken directly to a specific point in a topic when they use your links. The syntax is exactly the same as the standard HTML syntax for URLs containing anchor references:
index.html?topicname.htm#anchorname
I have tried doing this but it doesn't seem to work. For example, here is a page in my manual that contains an anchor:
https://help.tracker-software.com/pdfxe ... ns_ed.html
The name of the anchor is "editactionslist" - so, I thought the following link should work:
https://help.tracker-software.com/pdfxe ... ctionslist
But it does not work. Can anyone offer any help please?
Thanks,
Sean

Re: Linking to an anchor
Hi Sean,
The anchor works as described, you just left parts of the URL out. The correct URL for this topic wold be:
Your link was:
You used .htm instead of .html as the file extension and left out the index.html? part at the beginning.
The anchor works as described, you just left parts of the URL out. The correct URL for this topic wold be:
Code: Select all
https://help.tracker-software.com/pdfxe8/index.html?link-options_ed.html#editactionslist
Code: Select all
