Text scrambling on server build process

Unread post by kathleen_laughlin »

Hi,

We have a build process that is done through command line processing, with no opening of the actual program interface. On a recent build, our Help file had text scrambling applied to a trial version output. It was not a trial version. We are wondering if this may happen if the application is not actually run from time to time, if that causes it to lose its subscription status and opening it updates it.

Thanks,
Kathleen

Hi Kathleen,

You need to activate the installation for command line build server use, under the user account that is being used on that machine.

Before using your machine as a build server you need to activate your license for batch use with the following command line call, under the user account that is being used on that machine:

<path>HELPMAN.EXE /lic:XXXXXXXXXXXXX

Where XXXXXXXXXXXXX is your license key and <path> is the path to the Help+Manual program folder. The server must have an Internet connection when you do this. Upon successful activation, the digital license key for build server use is saved in the Help+Manual program directory on the headless server. You only need to do this once. After this you can run normal batch operations on the licensed computer from anywhere in your local network.
