Learning from the Wii: Focus on what matters

Unread post by Tim Green »

In his blog this week Nick Bradbury published a great post on Learning from the Wii. In case you've been living in a cave for the last six months, the Wii is a new game console from Nintendo that costs a fraction of what the competition from Sony and Microsoft costs and has significantly inferior graphics and technology. However, it is still a huge success because Nintendo is focusing on what people really want to do with a game console, which is have fun.

This principle is very true for software documentation and development as well. Don't geek out on technology, figure out what your customers really want and need and focus on that. It's a great post with some great links. Recommended. The other posts in this series of tips for indie developers are also excellent:

I know this is an OLD post, but thank you so much for posting it, Tim!

It's so true what he says in his articles, and I've made sure our development team had a look at this too!
