Exploits are already on the web using an "extremely critical" Internet Explorer 5 and 6 security vulnerability on Windows XP and 2000, which has not yet been corrected by Microsoft. All the user needs to do is to visit a malicious website -- the exploit can then be triggered automatically, without the user doing anything, and can install and run any code it wants on the user's machine.

At the very least you should not use Internet Explorer to visit any unknown sites!
