assign a style to a variable

Unread post by Petra Zamburek »

Hi!

i wish we could assign a style to a variable.
Some of our variables always have to be formatted with a specific style, so this would be very comfortable ...

The chances of this aren't very high because variables aren't limited to the object type inserted with the variable tool. They work just as well when you just type them in using the <%VARIABLE_NAME%> syntax.

One thing you can do is pre-format a variable with a text style in the editor, select it and save it as a formatted snippet, with the variable name as the filename. You could put them in a folder called Variables inside your project folder. Then to insert the preformatted variable you use the snippet tool with From File and Copy/Paste mode.
