Date Last Modified Options

Unread post by Olivier Beltrami »

My users and I rely on the Date Last Modified field a lot, since I usually release an update 2 times a month. This is a great feature.

Would it be possible to have some additional control over it ? For example, if I do a search/replace of all Times Italic 10 into Times Italic 11, I really do not want my users to think that I have updated 500 topics overnight .

Could we have an option in the S/R dialogs to turn off date modification while the dialog is up ?

Ouch... :-) Good idea but difficult to implement. This would apply to spell check and possible find & replace as well. A change is a change for the computer, whether you just correct a misspelled word or change a sentence.
Where do you set the limits?
I could imagine a temporary option that one could turn on. Something like "Do not change modification date when this option is active".

That would be great ! If possible this option would be reset to the usual when the file is closed to avoid leaving this option on for weeks. :?

Where can the "Date Last Modified field" be found?

Would be nice if it was on the "Topic Options" page...

Click anywhere on the topic editor window and you'll see this and much more information appear in the status bar.
