Check for open files before compiling...

Unread post by tomas »

When working with very large files the compilation may take some time.
If you forgot to close the previous compilation of, for instance, the PDF you are compiling, the compiler will tell you at the end of the compilation that "Cannot overwrite ... File may be in use.". This can be quite annoying.
Why not check if the file is locked before the compilation starts? Would often save time and frustration, especially if you sometimes are a bit absent-minded like me...

Again, I second this suggestion. I, too, am forgetful.
