Would it be possible to support environment variables for the compiler output file?
Reason:
Our technical author uses H & M and he stores his .chm files on his local disk in his directory structure.
We have him check the H & M projects into our source control system. On occasion we need to make minor modifications to the help files and then we check them back in.
Our directory structure (for the output files) doesn't match his. So we are constantly battling with the Output file for the .chm file.
If we could set the output file to be "%OURPRODUCT%\ourproduct.chm this would solve the problem. We would just set an environment variable on our machine pointing to our directory structure and he would set one on his. Problem solved.
We tried doing this with the current H & M release but it tells us that "the output folder does not exist. Do you want to create it?". If we say yes, nothing happens.
Many thanks.

Hmm, not quite.Alexander Halser wrote:Simon,
This has always been working, though not explicitely supported by Help & Manual, but by Windows
Go to File->Compile Help File.
Select HTML Help as the output format
Enter
%MYAPP%\myapp.chm in the Output File (you can type %TEMP%\test.chm in here to test) press OK.
I get a message saying
"This output folder does not exist. Do you wan to create it?"
The output folder does exist, but press Yes anyway and nothing happens.

Re: Support environment variables in compiler filenames
Hi,
is here new knowledge available?
It would also be great if environment variables will work in the task manager.
