What is your recommendet tool for creating self-running demos in flash/avi/exe-format?
We need one for creating marketing presentations but it would also be usable for demo-/ training-videos.
What do you think about Viewletbuilder? (www.qarbon.com or Freeware on http://www.viewletbuilder.de)
Andy.

I've used it since version 1.6 (then called LeeLou) and I currently use version 2 Pro (no need to be online and no ads). What do you think about Viewletbuilder?
: Does the job. Great text handling. Sonds like a trivial point, but after testing TurboDemo I realized how important it is.
: The usual Java headaches. Very slow UI (it's written in Java), very dependent on your users' version of the JVM, many files to worry about. Even with the Pro version I could not design my own skins (or even change the background color) without paying Qarbon a lot of extra money.
Another alternative is TurboDemo. I bought the Pro version also, but stopped using it because entering and modifying text is incredibly un-comfortable. You need to go into a modal dialog to change text, resizing of bubbles works strangely etc... Looks very promising, but until the text entry is more convenient this is a show-stopper for me.

Camtasia (US$149.95)
I suggest you also check out Camtasia, http://www.techsmith.com.
It lets you create videos of your computer screen. You can convert your AVI file to other compressed formats (e.g. ASF, WMV, RM). Whiteboarding, voice over etc are a snap.

Hi Andy,
I am currently using a toolset from 'Alchemy Mindworks' their Presentation Wizard is in the space. It is shareware, not expensive, download a trial and see what it can do for you.
Find it at www.mindworkshop.com/alchemy/alchemy.html
Hope you find it useful.
