Keywords in MultiMedia Help

Unread post by T. Abeln »

As mentioned in a prior posting, we use HM3 to realize our knowledge management via MultiMedia help files. Unfortunately, this is what we experienced with keywords in MultiMedia Help:

For us, the keyword-feature is elementary to help our users to find the right topic. For this reason, wo try to provide a wide range of "possible" keywords for each topic. And because we might have same topics in different categories, we mainly use second-level keywords. So it might happen, that for one and the same topic, we use different keywords, but the second level keyword ist always the same

Let me explain the bug with the following example:

Keyword entry in HM3 (Topic x):
Infotainmentcenter, Pioneer
Infotainmentsystem, Pioneer
Infotainment, Pioneer

Keyword entry in HM3 (Topic y):
Infotainmentcenter, Sony
Infotainmentsystem, Sony
Infotainment, Sony

This should appear in the compiled help file like this (and it does work properly in HTML Help):

Infotainmentcenter
_____Pioneer
_____Sony
Infotainmentsystem
_____Pioneer
_____Sony
Infotainment
_____Pioneer
_____Sony

But in the compiled MultiMedia help, it appears like this:
Infotainment
_____Pioneer
_____Sony
_____Pioneer
_____Sony
_____Pioneer
_____Sony

So MultiMedia Help duplicates the common part of the keywords and doesn't seem to recognize them as independant keywords. PS: We use the standard template (with TOC).

:?: Is this a bug in the software? Or is there a workaround to fix this?

Please define the master keyword separately:

Infotainmentcenter
Infotainmentcenter, Pioneer
Infotainmentsystem
Infotainmentsystem, Pioneer
Infotainment
Infotainment, Pioneer
