I use the Symbol font in my help file for the right arrow for menu references, like File -> New. If I set the Symbol font to not be embedded when I generate the PDF manual, that symbol becomes invisible when I read the generated PDF file. That is, of course, despite the fact that Symbol is installed on my PC, as I believe it is installed on all PCs with Windows 95 or higher. If I do embed Symbol, my PDF file is about 100K larger!
What's going on?

I'd vote for embedding, because the font may not be available on other computers. However, I cannot confirm the problem. It works fine for me on Windows 2000 with and without embedding. Can you provide more details about your operating system?
