Text selection / Scrolling

Unread post by a.rose »

I've tried marking text via mouse / keyboard
over the length of more than one screen page.
The problem is, I can only selct text on the current
screen page.
Scrolling whilst selecting doesn't seem to work.
I've also tried to scroll after selecting the text
visible on screen, but either it will not allow further
selection or previous selections are canceled.

Any Tricks on how to avoid this behaviour?

Selection scrolling works perfect for me. Highlight the text, move mouse down, and page moves up with mouse, all text highlighted correctly. Sorry can't help with this one.

...second attempt.

I'm not sure if we are talking about the same
problem.

Text, once highlighted stays highlighted, even
after scrolling - no worries here.
But: I've tried to highlight text longer than
one screen - a long table e.a. - and that is what
doesn't seem to work.

So: How to highlight text over several screen
pages?

I meant that I hold my mouse button down, move mouse lower than page, so page scrolls up, and I am highlighting all text as page moves up.

I can also click on text, hold down shift key, and press the down arrow, and it all correctly highlights, over text, through tables, etc all the way to the end of the page (several screens worth)

Do you have lastest version of H&M?

Ok :D

Clicking outside a table will work fine. Highlighting over several
pages is no problem.

Clicking within a table, (long one), and then marking will not work.
So if I want to copy and paste, it's going to be outside the table,
if it's more the one screen page long.

Can you verify this behaviour?

For copying (highlighting) a table, I always start on the line above the table and end on the line below. It works whether table finishes out of line of sight or not. And yes does not work within a table.

As mentioned in other posts, there are fixes coming in Ver 4 for tables. Whether this one is there, we will have to wait and see. But it is not to hard to get around the problem.
