Hi Vincent,

This actually has nothing to do with the subject of the thread so it really would have been better to post this as a new post in the Wish List section. However, it's actually OK to answer this here because what you are asking for is unfortunately physically impossible in a program like Help+Manual.
You are used to single-format tools like Word, where the source document and the "output" are the same thing. There what you describe is not a problem, because the document already has margins and paper size and so on. In Help+Manual, the source document does not have anything to do with the output directly. It consists
only of the content itself. There are no margins, no page information, no layout, nothing at all like that. Those things must be added separately for each individual output format, and that only happens when you combine the content and the template to create the output. The hyphenation does not and cannot exist until that happens. And since there are many factors that affect it--paper size, manual page breaks, sections and also the printer driver (every printer driver writes text slightly differently, with different spacing between the letters, causing different pagination and hyphenation)--there is no way to really check the pagination other than actually generating the complete output.
Some things in PDF can be checked by creating a minimal "checking template" that only includes the topics section, and you can then speed it up still further by only generating the currently selected topic (select topics, then use the selected topics only option in the Table of Contents section in the Publish screen). However, that doesn't work for hyphenation and pagination because it can easily result in different hyphenation and pagination than the final product.
