out-of-date topics are still in the index

Unread post by olgarev_tw »

Hi.
In my H&M project I have some topics that have the "Out Of Date" topic status. I publish the WebHelp, and those topics are not displayed in the TOC (and that is correct). But they still present in the index file and can be found in the Search results (and this is wrong). Is there smth that I'm missing (misconfiguring) or it is a bug?

The problem is just that you are not deleting the contents of your output folder when you publish. The search index is HTML based and must be generated from the output folder files after publishing. If you don't flush the folder the old files are still there and will get indexed. Similarly, you should also regularly flush the folder on your web server, otherwise Google and other search engines will continue to find the old files there as well.
