Output to Word -- Keywords
When I output a topic with a keyword to a DOCX, the keyword gets attached to the title.
E.g. Mytopic.xml with Keyword "Blah" --> in Word --> Chapter Title = Mytopic {XE "Blah"}
How do I output the title only?
I tested my own template and also a default template -- same behaviour.

Re: Output to Word -- Keywords
Hi John,
I'm having this checked but I think the only real problem here is that you have activated the display of fields and hidden text in Word. The keywords have to be attached somewhere and since an Word file is a single file, topics from your project are only defined by their headings. The index keywords have to be attached somewhere, and the heading is the only clear marker showing where a topic begins.

Re: Output to Word -- Keywords
Hi John,
The keyword is just an invisible marker and it is placed right next to the topic title, because that's where the keyword points to. You can ignore the keyword markers - they won't have any effect unless the document has a keyword index.
Tip: you are seeing the keyword markers because Word shows you invisible content as well. There is a setting in the Word options to hide invisible content.

I use Alt-F9 to toggle the display of hidden items on and off.

Re: Output to Word -- Keywords
Thanks,
I have Word set to shade fields and display the content.
When I press Alt + F9, it toggles *other* field codes between code and content on and off -- the keywords hanging onto the titles stay visible.
However, they do not print.
Turning Datei --> Optionen --> Anzeige --> "Ausgeblendeten Text" OFF does the trick.
Is there any particular reason why they are output in the first place?

Without them it would not be possible to generate a keyword index for the Word file.John Johann wrote:Is there any particular reason why they are output in the first place?

That's the right option. It is normally "OFF", so most people don't see the markers anyway.Turning Datei --> Optionen --> Anzeige --> "Ausgeblendeten Text" OFF does the trick.

The keyword markers are output to help Word build a keyword index with page references, which is a typical requirement for a print manual.

Good point with the automatic keyword index. Another thing to maintain
