Registration Question ...

Unread post by Marc Iser »

Good morning,

Is it possible to pass on a license (a registration key)? Perhaps it's called "floating license"!?

Or is it possible to use 1 license on 2 computers?

Thank you very much for a reaction -

Marc

Hi Marc,

Here are the details anyway:

Basic and Pro licenses are per-seat/user and each licensed user is allowed to install on two machines (1 desktop and 1 laptop) for their own use. Server licenses have the same functionality as Pro licenses but they are installed on the server and can be run on any computer on the same local network as the server without installation on the client computer. How many users can do this at the same time (concurrent users) depends on the number of Server licenses installed. This is only economical for larger teams where not all users need to work at the same time. For example, if you have 10 users in the office but no more than 3 need to use Help+Manual at the same time, you can get by with 3 Server licenses instead of 10 Pro licenses. You can also mix the two. Quite a few teams get Pro licenses for the lead authors who use the program all day every day, and Server licenses for the contributing authors.
