Another example:
I personally think that an additional option of fading or slight blurring, rather than the obliterating style of a full redact, would sometimes be more appropriate. For example on a menu.
Separately, I'm thinking out aloud now, maybe it would be useful to have the option to blur an inverted selection. ie. select the parts that you don't want to blur.
