Key conflicts between the object list and the canvas
Hi Tim:
It's nice that we can communicate in the forum.
I'm having a problem with helpxplain. There was a piece of text at the bottom, and I went into the object list to select it. Press F2 to edit the text, but the result is to edit the object name; Press the up arrow key to move the position, but the object above the text is selected. The text is at the bottom, obscured, and cannot be selected by clicking on it.Can you add a modifier key to solve this problem?
Cory

Re: Key conflicts between the object list and the canvas
Hi Cory,
You can select elements with the object list. If an element is covered by another element, hide the element above it by clicking its eye icon in the object list. You will then be able to access the item directly. Don't forget to turn the hidden item on again after editing.

Re: Key conflicts between the object list and the canvas
Hello, Tim:
Thank you very much for your guidance and help. This is a good solution, but when there are multiple layers of objects above the text, it will be more troublesome to hide them one by one, and it will be more convenient to use shortcut keys. It is recommended to add a "solo" function to the object list: double-click the display icon, and only this object is displayed on the canvas. This feature looks cool, don't know if it can be implemented?
Best Regards

Hi Cory,
This is an interesting idea that I've passed on to our developers for consideration.

Re: Key conflicts between the object list and the canvas
Hi Cory,
the easiest way to select (a) particular object(s) is to select it in the Object List. There you can select even objects that are temporarily made invisible.

Re: Key conflicts between the object list and the canvas
hi,Alexander:
This list of objects is very good to use and makes it easy to select any object. The difficulty now is that when you select an object and press F2 to edit the object, the activated function is to rename the object, and it is difficult to activate the function of editing the object.

Re: Key conflicts between the object list and the canvas
You have a point here. We could implement an "Edit Object" menu item in the context menu of the object list. That would do the trick, wouldn't it?

Re: Key conflicts between the object list and the canvas
The idea is great and very much in line with the operating habits. I would also like to suggest some optimizations:
if it is a text object, after clicking the edit command, you can jump out of an edit box to edit the text;
If there are multiple text objects, you can also switch the text through the previous and next buttons;
If you click on a combination, you can list all the text boxes inside for editing.
This feature will greatly improve work efficiency.
HelpPlain does a better job of detail than PowerPoint. Cheers!
